Taylor King. The guy's a sharp shooter from outside, but at 6'7 has enough height to go in and help bang down low for some rebounds. In the exhibition against Shaw, he was quick off the ground to get rebounds and kicked them out well to either start the break or get someone an open shot outside. He shot 2 of 7 from 3 in that game, but didn't have any horrible shots. Every miss rimmed out or was long--both good signs that he's a terrific shooter even if the shots aren't falling yet. I don't recall him having a turnover either--very smart w/the ball, just like Smith & Singler are too.
Duke's personnel overall fits a more uptempo pace that will allow them to play with the more athletic teams in the ACC, so they'll surprise some people this year w/more strength and speed than they've had.
puke is gonna suck this year
i think this is finally the year that memphis can get it done

Thanks for that in depth analysis, jackass.

That's a possibility. They've started off strong, if Rose keeps growing into the star role and everyone else plays solid, it could happen for them.

anytime
Rose does look good so far.
i think the key for memphis this year will be to not have to make rose do it all himself
they need D-R and dozier to help carry the load and emerge as leaders
what about Gate City's Lady Devils Basketball?? any hope for them this season??
i do like Nolan Smith, and I think he needs to get a lot of minutes ASAP, but he played off the ball every time I saw him (obviously because of Jennings) so it is yet to be seen (to me at least) if he can run the show...if he can, and Singler can defend as well as he can score then Duke could be right there...but going by what i've seen so far (i haven't seen taylor king) then it looks like they're probably a year away, but will no doubt be competitive in every game they play this year
yea they are, they have tessa burton
Anyone see Ohio St lose to Div 2 Findlay?
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Marcus Parker scored 18 points to lead Findlay to a 70-68 victory over Ohio State on Tuesday night, the second time in a week a Division II school beat a Big Ten team in an exhibition game. On Saturday, Grand Valley State beat No. 8 Michigan State, the conference preseason favorite, 85-82 in double overtime.
Saw it while looking up info on Dayton, since they play ETSU Saturday. Findlay had played Dayton before that and lost by 3 (81-78).
i've heard there are some upcomming good players also...
